Duisburg, June 2, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 There is a change in management at startport, the innovation platform for logistics and supply chain of Duisburger Hafen AG<\/a> (duisport). Alessandro Benassi<\/a> has decided to leave the company as of June 15, 2025.<\/p>

Benassi had been part of the management team since January 2024 alongside Johannes Franke<\/a> and, during this time, significantly advanced the strategic development of startport, the professionalization of structures, and the expansion of the partner network. With his decision to leave the company, he is deliberately pursuing the goal of focusing fully on innovative tasks in the energy sector in the future.<\/p>

“My time at startport was a very formative and enriching experience for me. I am grateful for the trust of our partners, the great network, and the pioneering projects. Now is the right moment for me to take the next step and face new challenges in the energy industry\u2014a sector that is also essential for the future of logistics,” said Alessandro Benassi.<\/p>

As of June 2025, Alexander Garbar<\/a> will take the helm, in addition to his position as Head of Corporate Development, Digitalization, and Strategy. In previous years, he was already significantly involved in the strategic development and leadership of startport as Managing Director. Garbar brings a deep familiarity with the ecosystem as well as startport’s partner and startup network.<\/p>

Andrea Peters<\/a> takes on responsibility as the new authorized signatory (Prokuristin) in the extended management team. For years, she has been a driving force behind the further development of startport\u2014both in terms of content and structure.<\/p>

“We thank Alessandro Benassi for his commitment and his contributions and are very pleased to regain an experienced leader in Alexander Garbar. This change underlines the continuity and future orientation of our network,” said Johannes Franke, Managing Director of startport.<\/p>
