startport welcomes 7 new startups to Duisburg’s Inner Harbor

Duisburg, 2024-06-06 – Innovative sails are being set once again at startport in Duisburg’s Inner Harbor. Seven new startups from the logistics and supply chain sector are beginning their journey today in the new startport incubator batch (Batch #9). The opening ceremony took place today at the startport coworking space in Duisburg’s Inner Harbor. The six-month incubator program promises not only innovative developments but also close cooperation with logistics partners and an inspiring working environment at the startport office.

The seven selected startups Green Convenience, HAPTIK, nanuq., redcable robots, SLAPStack, PYCK, and PALPRINT represent a wide range of technology and logistics solutions in various sub-sectors of logistics, including the last mile, fleet electrification, industrial cable robots, operating systems for block storage warehouses, warehouse management, and 3D printing modules for packaging. These startups will receive intensive support and promotion over the next six months to advance their innovative ideas in the logistics and supply chain industry. Already in May, they were able to get a taste of the startport atmosphere as exhibitors at FUTURE LOGISTICS, the largest startport innovation fair at the Museum of Inland Navigation in Duisburg, and present their innovations to the logistics world. Full program for the startups: Customer matching, workshops, and more

“Logistics involves far more than just the reliable transport of goods from point A to point B. The diversity and innovative power of the startups from Batch #9 impressively illustrate the different areas and challenges within the logistics industry. The startups not only highlight current developments but also offer an exciting insight into the future and the diverse possibilities that can still be exploited in logistics,” emphasizes Andrea Peters, Startup and Community Manager at startport.

As part of the incubator program at startport, startups are offered a variety of resources and support, including the creation of prototypes, individual matching for projects and potential customers, networking with investors, exclusive access to network events, tailored workshops with industry experts, PR and marketing communication, as well as attractive workstations in the coworking space.

startport program sets innovative pilot projects and collaborations in motion

Alessandro Benassi, Managing Director of startport, expressed confidence in the new batch: “We are pleased to welcome Batch #9 and are convinced that these startups will inspire the logistics and supply chain industry with their innovative ideas and solutions. In recent years, we have successfully implemented pilot projects with startups from our program and our logistics partners, which have often resulted in long-term collaborations. An outstanding current example is the cooperation between the startup ForkOn and our parent company duisport – Duisburger Hafen AG.”

As a subsidiary of Duisburger Hafen AG, startport has built up a strong partner network in its 6 years of existence. This includes regional players such as Duisburg Intermodal Terminal, Duisburg Business & Innovation, Haeger & Schmidt, TanQuid, Rhenus Port Logistics, Yusen Logistics, and Wirtschaftsbetriebe Duisburg. These are networked with specific startups in so-called Innovation Challenges, enabling them to successfully launch pilot projects. Through this startport format, tailored innovations are assigned to the right companies, driving development at the Duisburg location and the Rhine-Ruhr region.
