Duisburg, 2023-09-27 – At startport in Duisburg’s Inner Harbour, innovative “fish” have once again been brought on board. A total of 5 new startups from the logistics and supply chain sector are starting the new cohort (Batch #8) of the incubator programme. The ceremonial opening took place today in the startport coworking space in Duisburg’s Inner Harbour and was crowned with an impressive boat tour through the port. This six-month programme promises not only innovative developments, but also close collaboration with the exclusive partners and an inspiring working environment at the startport office. The five selected startups, aluco, FLOWEye, CloverOptimization and Cellgo, represent a broad range of technology and logistics solutions across a wide variety of logistics sub-sectors, including process optimisation, efficiency gains, planning algorithms, warehouse automation and robotics. Over the next six months, these startups will receive intensive support and funding to drive their innovative ideas forward in the logistics and supply chain industry. Johannes Franke, Managing Director of startport, expressed his enthusiasm about the new cohort: “We are delighted to welcome Batch #8 and are convinced that these startups, with their innovative ideas and solutions, will advance the logistics and supply chain industry. With our six-month incubator programme and the focus on bringing them specifically to our location here, we can respond even more precisely to the needs of our exclusive partners and initiate joint projects.”

startport programme duration shortened to six months

Shortening the programme duration to six months enables startport to further increase the quality and effectiveness of collaboration between the startups and their exclusive partners. This new format offers startups faster development of their innovations and enables them to reach the market more quickly. Since its founding in 2017, startport has developed into one of Europe’s leading innovation platforms. The focus on the Rhine-Ruhr region and Duisburg enables startport to leverage its proximity to its exclusive partners and develop innovative solutions for the logistics and supply chain industry.
