The cooperation aims, among other things, to further develop and establish innovative and digital processes in bulk cargo logistics – another important step toward strengthening the Rhine-Ruhr region as a leading logistics hub.

M. Zietzschmann GmbH & Co. KG is among the pioneers in bulk and general cargo logistics in the Rhine-Ruhr region. The company actively contributes to CO₂ reduction by increasingly shifting freight transport to environmentally friendly modes such as inland vessels. Additionally, Zietzschmann relies on renewable energy: from 2019 to 2020, a 9,000-square-meter photovoltaic system was installed on a warehouse, making a significant contribution to climate-friendly energy generation. In 2023, ISO 14001 and Green Logistics certifications were added. This sustainability strategy is now being further expanded through the partnership with startport – with digital solutions designed to further improve the efficiency and environmental footprint of logistics processes.
