The Duisburg-based subsidiary of the Swiss Weiss+Appetito Services AG, Weiss+Appetito Services GmbH, has joined the partner network of duisport subsidiary startport.
As a programme partner, Weiss+Appetito supports the startup hub startport in the digitalisation of logistics in the Rhine-Ruhr region. Through this cooperation, Weiss+Appetito also supports the innovation platform for logistics and supply chain—primarily in terms of content—through its own technical developments.
Digital expertise for startport startups
Weiss+Appetito brings almost 100 years of experience in specialised construction services and, since 2015, has been developing solutions within the group via the startup we.digitize to address the challenges of digitalisation. The focus is on efficient charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and digital locking technology, e.g. for contactless handover of materials along a supply chain. “With startport, a young company from the Rhine-Ruhr region has gained our highly valued attention because it pursues the same goals as we do in terms of economic sustainability and technological future orientation,” explains Dr Walter Daumann, Managing Director and Partner of the Weiss+Appetito Group. “At the same time, startport’s concept convinced us: providing young entrepreneurs with access to a network of major players in our regional market with a platform to successfully introduce new technologies in logistics and supply chain,” adds Maurice Simkins, Head of Development at we.digitize. Weiss+Appetito supports startport startups with expertise in digitalisation. Alexander Garbar, Managing Director of startport, is pleased about the new addition to the partner network: “With Weiss+Appetito, we have gained a strong ally with nearly 100 years of experience for the further development of innovative ideas in logistics and supply chain!”
