Duisburg, June 02, 2025 — At startport, the innovation platform for logistics and supply chain of Duisburger Hafen AG (duisport), there is a change in management. Alessandro Benassi has decided to leave the company on June 15, 2025.
Since January 2024, Benassi has been together with Johannes Franke Part of the management team and during this time has significantly promoted the strategic development of startport, the professionalization of structures and the expansion of the partner network. With his decision to leave the company, he is consciously following the goal of concentrating fully on innovative tasks in the energy sector in the future.
“The time at Startport was a very formative and enriching experience for me. I am grateful for the trust of the partners, the great network and the groundbreaking projects. Now is the right time for me to take the next step and take on new challenges in the energy sector — an area that is also essential for the future of logistics,” says Alessandro Benassi.
From June 2025, takes over Alexander Garbar tax, in addition to his position as head of corporate development, digitization and strategy. He was already significantly involved in the strategic development and management of startport as managing director in previous years. Garbar brings a deep familiarity with the startport ecosystem and partner and start-up network.
Andrea Peters As a new authorized signatory, assumes responsibility in the extended management team. For years, she has been a driving force behind the development of startport — both in terms of content and structure.
